Peter M. Schneiderman is President of Schneiderman & Sherman, P.C. He founded the original law firm in 1973, which was reincorporated in 1995 under the name Peter M. Schneiderman & Associates, P.C., and became Schneiderman & Sherman, P.C. in 2008. Mr. Schneiderman has continuously represented clients in the real estate and mortgage banking industry since 1975, including the areas of foreclosure, bankruptcy, eviction, REO, title, regulatory, licensing and related litigation matters.

He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, its Real Property Law Section, Business Law Section, Probate and Estate Planning Section, Elder Law and Disability Rights Section, and Taxation Section. Mr. Schneiderman is also a member of the American Bar Association.

He is licensed to practice law in the States of Colorado and Texas; and is licensed to practice law in the U.S. Tax Court, the Eastern Federal District Courts of Michigan, and the United States Supreme Court.

He is a licensed title agent and is a founding partner of Best Homes Title Agency, LLC.

He is admitted as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Michigan since 1973.

He is a 1967 graduate of the University of Michigan Business School; 1970 graduate of the Wayne State University School of Law.

NEIL R. SHERMAN

Neil Sherman, along with Peter Schneiderman, is the owner and Managing Partner of Schneiderman & Sherman, PC and the President of Best Homes Title Agency.  He is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of both companies and was instrumental in the company’s growth from five to over 125 employees. Mr. Sherman has over 15 years of experience representing the mortgage servicing and investing community in the areas of foreclosure, bankruptcy, asset recovery, mediation, title curative and REO conveyance.

Mr. Sherman is current Chairperson for the trade association Legal League 100, an association, comprised of 117 law firms nationwide specializing in the area of real estate law.  He is a regular panel speaker at the Five Star conference, industries largest assembly of attorneys, servicers and investors.  Mr. Sherman is a member of the American Legal and Financial Network, Michigan Land Title Association, Michigan Mortgage Lenders Association and State Bar of Michigan.  Mr. Sherman serves as a member of a number of charitable committees including the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit, Real Estate Executive Committee.

In addition to his law license, Mr. Sherman is a licensed title agent, licensed real estate broker and has his property and casualty license.

In 2010, Neil Sherman was named to the Crain’s Detroit Business “40 Under 40” list.  In addition in 2014 Mr. Sherman was the recipient of HousingWire Magazine’s Rising Star Award along with DBusiness Magazine’s 2014 “30 in their 30’s”.

Mr. Sherman is a graduate of Michigan State’s Law School, is married and the proud father of three boys.

MICHELLE C. LEVY

Michelle C. Levy specializes in the areas of Real Estate Law and Secured Transactions regularly representing banks, mortgage companies and other lenders in connection with mortgage loan and other transactions involving real estate. Ms. Levy received her Bachelor of Arts from the Michigan State University Business School. She obtained her Juris Doctorate in 1992 from the Detroit College of Law and joined the firm thereafter in 1993. She is a is a member of the Michigan Bar Association and is admitted to practice law in all State and Federal Courts in the State of Michigan.

Mr. Jacobs is the Litigation Manager of a department that provides a wide variety of services and support for the firm’s clients.  Mr. Jacobs represents servicers, investors and lenders through all stages of litigation, including motions, trials and appeals in both state and federal courts.  He litigates issues related to default servicing, consumer protection laws and title to real property.  He also assist client with transactions and litigation related to commercial real estate.  His advocacy of clients focuses on arriving at the best solution, whether through successful negotiation or through vigorous defense or prosecution.

Mr. Jacobs earned his law degree from University of Detroit-Mercy School of Law and earned his bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University in Detroit in finance and business economics, graduating cum laude,.  For the years 2013, 2014, and 2015 he has received recognition as one of Michigan’s Rising Stars in Super Lawyers magazine.

MICHAEL HOGAN

Michael P. Hogan is a Bankruptcy Attorney and Department Manager of the Bankruptcy Department at Schneiderman & Sherman, P.C. and practices in the areas of bankruptcy, creditor’s rights, and commercial litigation. A graduate of Michigan State University College of Law, Michael was elected by his peers to serve on the Board of Directors for the Consumer Bankruptcy Association of the Eastern District of Michigan. A member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, he has been a speaker for the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Consumer Bankruptcy Association’s Veteran’s Day Seminar, American Bankruptcy Institute’s Central States Seminar, ICLE’s Bankruptcy Reform Act: One Year Later, and the National Bar Association Annual Conference.  Mr. Hogan serves as a member of the Planning Committee for the ABI/CBA’s Detroit Consumer Bankruptcy Seminar and is the Chairperson of the Sponsorship Committee.  Michael was also selected to serve on the Local Bankruptcy Rules-Chapter 13 Subcommittee.  He is a contributing author to ICLE’s “Handling Consumer and Small Business Bankruptcies” and has authored two Best Practice Guides/How to Kits for ICLE.

Jienelle R. Alvarado

Jienelle R. Alvarado specializes in the areas of real estate and consumer finance litigation regularly representing banks, mortgage companies, and investors, as well as representing commercial entities in connection with real estate transactions.  With nearly 8 years of experience, she resolved hundreds of cases in favor of clients in a variety of disputes across the State of Michigan.

Ms. Alvarado is an appointee of the State Bar of Michigan: Law and the Media Committee, where she also serves as the Chair of the Educational Event Subcommittee.  Super Lawyers Magazine recognized Ms. Alvarado as a “2015 Rising Star” in Real Estate.

Ms. Alvarado obtained her Juris Doctorate in 2008 from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and received her Bachelor of Arts in History, cum laude, from Oakland University in 2003.

Stephanie Jollands brings nearly 5 years of litigation experience and balances her time as an Associate Compliance Attorney in the foreclosure department of Schneiderman & Sherman, P.C. and performs litigation activities on behalf of clients.

Stephanie earned her Undergraduate Degree from Grand Valley State University in Business Management with a concentration in Operations Management before attending Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and is admitted to practice in the Western District of Michigan.

Brian Yoho

Brian Yoho serves as Senior Attorney in Foreclosure and Title Curative. He manages the firm’s title curative division, which resolves title problems on behalf of creditors and title insurance underwriters. Mr. Yoho has spent his legal career in the area of mortgage default, with experience in bankruptcy, loss mitigation, consumer finance regulation, and litigation, as well as foreclosure and title.  He is a is a member of the Michigan Bar Association and is admitted to practice in the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan.

In 2012, Super Lawyers Magazine recognized Mr. Yoho as a “Rising Star” in Real Estate.

Mr. Yoho obtained his Juris Doctorate in 2003 from the Ave Maria School of Law and received his Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from Erskine College in 1996.
